Line Dancing 101

Do you like to dance and have a good time? Come on out and give line dancing a try! This class is tons of fun and a great way to get some exercise without knowing it. We will learn choreographed dances to the newest music, some country and much more. Our class will start super simple and we will kick it up a small notch at the end for those who really like a challenge or have already done this before. No experience or partner necessary. Students are asked to wear shoes without grips on the bottom. Melissa Adams has been dancing for more than 25 years and began to teach five years ago to share her passion with others. Maine Driving Dynamics

Maine’s Driving Dynamics course offers all drivers the opportunity to improve their defensive driving abilities. This five-hour course will include discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine’s highways. Students completing the course will receive a three-point credit on their driving record. A certified Maine Driving Dynamics instructor teaches this course. Microsoft Excel (for Intermediates)

Do you use Microsoft Excel today? Do you follow a cheat sheet to complete your daily Excel tasks? Do you need something a little more than a basic class? In this three day (2 hours per day) class, we will teach you how to use the intermediate features of the Microsoft Excel program. By the end of the class you will be able to use the conditional formatting feature, use spreadsheets for mail merging, create and use pivot tables, create charts and graphs, combine functions within formulas, edit text to columns and more. Sign-up today and expand your possibilities with the Microsoft Excel program. Students are asked to bring a blank thumb drive (1GB or larger) to the class. Dust off that instrument and get playing! This is your chance to interact with other musicians and work towards the common goal of a performance at the end of the course. Members will dictate the repertoire to be played with no genre-specific limitations. You’ll learn to sound great in a group, hone your skills and stretch your abilities in ways that only playing with others can provide. All skill levels welcome. Open to guitar (acoustic/electric), drums, vocals, bass (electric & upright) and piano/keyboard. Register early; this class will take only 10 students. Needle Felting

Learn the art of wet and needle felting. This is an old-time craft that involves fusing the wool fibers together with hot water and soap (wet felting) and interlocking fibers with a special barbed needle. It is easy to learn but hard to put down! We will make either vessels or small landscapes. No experience needed. Register early; this class will take only 10 students. Photography: Basics and Beyond

This 6-week instructional photography course will cover: how a camera works, technical terminology, exposure modes, manual exposure, light, composition, recommended equipment for all photographers, post production for digital photographers and much more. Students interested should have a basic knowledge of their camera including how to change exposure modes, ISO, aperture and shutter speed. Students should bring to class a camera that is either film, Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) or mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Camera (ILC) as well as their camera manual. Richard Snow is an avid semi-pro photographer from Windham. He enjoys shooting waterfalls, lighthouses, high school sports, portraits and other landscapes in Maine and New Hampshire.
