Explore Chair Yoga Session II
with Jude Valentine
Chair yoga is an accessible form of yoga postures that makes it ideal for those with limited mobility or thinking about starting a yoga practice. We’ll focus on easy movement and stretching to stay flexible, aligned, and stable. This is the perfect class for staying in shape during the winter! If you have considered taking a yoga class but feel like you are too “old,” too “stiff,” or think that Yoga is just for the young, this class is for you. No special clothing is required, and you can practice with your shoes on! No experience is necessary. Join us in person in the toasty studio or virtually via Zoom. Zoom participants need to have a working computer camera. A link will be provided before the start of the session. What better time to start than NOW? Jude Valentine is a lifelong yoga enthusiast, and Yoga Alliance registered 200-hour yoga teacher. Additional certifications include: Level 1 Instructor, Energy Medicine Yoga; Trauma Informed Yoga; and Yoga for Seniors. Her classes focus on a student-centered approach that supports awareness of the parasympathetic nervous system, breathing, and range of motion. She welcomes students of all abilities in her classes, especially those new to Yoga.

Join Certified Group Fitness Instructor Theresa Labrecque for a class that blends Pilates's core conditioning and full-body strengthening with the flexibility and lengthening of Yoga for a balanced workout for all levels. Theresa has been a certified group fitness instructor for over 30 years, teaching Pilates for more than 18 years and Yoga for 12. She is committed to providing functional strengthening to all ages and ability levels.

Stained Glass Studio Session I

This is an open studio option for beginners who would like to hone their skills or for more confident makers who would like to have the opportunity to work on a larger piece with the company of fellow makers. Instructor: Christina Thibault. Materials are included. All classes are held at the Art and Nature Center at Tannery Brook.

Handbuilding (Beginner/Intermediate) Session II
with Piper Smith
This class will be an introduction to hand-building with clay! In these 7-week sessions, you will learn to make both functional and sculptural pieces, ranging from cups, platters, and vessels to more sculptural work like wall pockets, garden gnomes, and funky planters…the possibilities are endless! We will explore coiling, slab building, molds, and more. We will also focus time on learning different surfacing and glazing techniques to create unique textures and designs. The small class size allows for a fun, relaxed, and collaborative learning environment for people with all experience levels. Instructor: Piper Smith. All classes are held at the Art and Nature Center at Tannery Brook.
Session II: 7 classes, Mondays, 3/3-4/14, 6:00pm-8:00pm, $200
Add to the online listing: Additional, optional work time will be offered for open studio members and current students on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays between 10 am and 1 pm and Fridays from 5pm-8pm. This extra, optional work time is first come, first serve for available space. The studio will be closed on federal holidays unless otherwise specified.
Observational Still Life Drawing
with Patrick Corey
This hands-on course teaches you how to draw what you see. Using time-tested still life arrangements and objects, we will explore line, form, value, composition, and technique using pencil and ink/graphite wash drawing. Patrick Corey resides in Windham and has a BFA in drawing and painting. He works professionally as a graphic artist. He enjoys watercolor painting and photography. Participants will need their own supplies. A supply list will be provided.

Ukulele for Beginners Session II

Join the ukulele revolution! Here's your chance to learn how to play this wonderfully versatile, go-anywhere instrument in our no-stress program for beginners. There are four classes in all, one each week on Zoom. Bring a ukulele, your sense of humor, passion for music, and curiosity about playing. Once you master the basics, you won't want to stop. Will you be recruited to perform at Carnegie Hall? Well, not right away. But, as the saying goes, 'The best player isn't the person who can pick or strum the most notes. It isn't the person with the greatest technical skill. It's the person who can touch the most hearts.' So grab a uke, you don't need to read music - sign up, tune up and show up. Duncan Perry, a multi-instrumentalist, has played ukulele for over 14 years. He is a popular and experienced teacher and performer who offers classes up and down the Southern coast of Maine.

Wheel Throwing (Beginner/Intermediate): Tuesday Evening, Session II

Join us in this fun, in-depth exploration of clay! This class will provide an introduction to throwing on the pottery wheel and becoming acquainted with our studio and materials. In these 7-week sessions you will learn about all the stages of working with clay: throwing, trimming, surfacing, firing, glazing, and beyond! Our small class size and experienced teachers allow for plenty of individual instruction and learning at your own pace, so whatever experience level you are coming in with works for us. You will leave with your own unique body of work and an exciting new skill/hobby! All classes are held at the Art and Nature Center at Tannery Brook.
Tuesday Evening, Session II: 7 classes, 3/4-4/15, 6:00pm-8:00pm, $250
Additional, optional work time will be offered for current students and members on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays 10am-1pm and Fridays from 5pm-8pm. This optional work time is first come, first serve for available wheel use and table space. The studio will be closed on federal holidays.
