DIY Wood Sign Workshop - Session II

So much fun to be had! Gabrielle has so many wooden items to choose from (barn signs, large rounds, serving trays, and more). You get to choose ahead of time your wood piece, project paint/stain color and stencil design. Many stencil designs can be customized. When you arrive at class you get to do all the fun stuff. There will be a lot of paint colors to choose from to make your project your own and you can even distress your piece, if that is the look you are seeking. This class is instructor led, so you will have the experience of Gabrielle Lovi to guide you along the way. Learn how to avoid those nasty bleeds on your projects and stencil with confidence. When you leave, you will have a beautiful project. Gabrielle Lovi has been an artisan for over 20 years and is a board member of the United Maine Craftsmen.

Registration for this class will close on Sunday, 3/26, to allow for instructor preparation.

Have you taken a drawing, watercolor, oil (water-based) or acrylic class and have paintings you’d like to complete? Do you want to get expert advice on how to improve as you go? Want to join a group of other creative folks for support and camaraderie? Then join our Open Studio! Held once a week for four consecutive, two hour sessions, you’ll be able to work in a spacious, creative, supportive environment with other makers, working on your own projects at your own speed, receiving guidance from a professional artist and teacher. The Open Studio is a great way to jump start your creative ideas, finish a project with supportive input, or explore a new media. *Jumpstart your Creativity zoom sessions are a great way to focus on a skill then use the open studio to enhance your learning in that area. Acadian Arts Watercolor Retreat - The Willows

Your instructor, Mary Laury is an accomplished watercolorist and highly esteemed teacher. She encourages all her students to believe they can be successful. And they are! Watercolor Painting is an exciting medium; it flows and moves and does beautiful things. If you have never painted in watercolors, we will start at the beginning. If you have painted before, you will pick up some new tips and tricks as well. We all learn together! Escape with an intimate group of artists and cooks! All meals are included in the workshop fee as well as specially planned optional evening activities designed to extend your learning from the day’s workshops. Day students are welcome.

Portrait Drawing - Session III

Practice observation drawing skills, portraiture, through a series of drawing exercises from gesture drawing to short poses to drawing from photographs.
