Introduction to Essential Oils, Part 2

Continue on your learning journey for essential oils! Let’s delve a little deeper and learn more specific oils, their uses, what mixes well together and how they can be used to enhance your everyday life. The instructor will have samples for smelling and trying while in class and will distribute recipes for you to take home to try on your own. Essential oils will be discussed generally; specific oil companies will not be named. There will be some review of material from the first introduction class, specifically how to buy essential oils safely and what to look for in a trusted company. This class is a continuation of the Introduction to Essential Oils class, held on 9/25/2018. Elissa Nauman is a Certified Essential Oils Coach through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP). She is a health enthusiast and holds a M.S. in Counseling and Psychological Services from Salem State University. Elissa resides in Gorham with her husband and two children. Line Dancing 101

Do you like to dance and have a good time? Come on out and give line dancing a try! This class is tons of fun and a great way to get some exercise without knowing it. We will learn choreographed dances to the newest music, some country and much more. Our class will start super simple and we will kick it up a small notch at the end for those who really like a challenge or have already done this before. No experience or partner necessary. Students are asked to wear shoes without grips on the bottom. Melissa Adams has been dancing for more than 25 years and began to teach five years ago to share her passion with others. Maine’s Driving Dynamics course offers all drivers the opportunity to improve their defensive driving abilities. This five-hour course will include discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine’s highways. Students completing the course will receive a three-point credit on their driving record. A certified Maine Driving Dynamics instructor teaches this course. Photography: Basics and Beyond

This 6-week instructional photography course will cover: how a camera works, technical terminology, exposure modes, manual exposure, light, composition, recommended equipment for all photographers, post production for digital photographers and much more. Students interested should have a basic knowledge of their camera including how to change exposure modes, ISO, aperture and shutter speed. Students should bring to class a camera that is either film, Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) or mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Camera (ILC) as well as their camera manual. Planning a Great Vegetable Garden

Let’s get ready to plan your next vegetable garden. This class will cover site selection and preparation, crop selection and rotation, composting, starting plants indoors from seed, garden pests and diseases, succession planting, harvesting and tips and tricks for all kinds of vegetables. Joel Leak has been gardening for more than 40 years and started with a small vegetable garden when he was young. He graduated from the Cumberland County Master Gardener program in 2001.
