History Walk at Gambo Preserve: History of the Gunpowder Mill & Towpath

with Presumpscot Regional Land Trust

Come learn about the amazing history of the Gambo Preserve. Don Wescott, history enthusiast and former Presumpscot Regional Land Trust board member, will be leading this walk during which he will share a wealth of information about the Cumberland & Oxford Canal and Towpath, the Gunpowder Mill and the Gambo Dam. These institutions/structures all figured prominently in the 19th century in our region and remains of each can still be seen along the Gambo Trail. This will be an easy one mile walk over mostly flat terrain with lots of stops to learn about the history of the region. Sunday, April 15, 1-3PM, at Shaw Park (55 Partridge Lane, Gorham), no charge
