Have a garden that looks and tastes great! Join Master Gardener Joel Leak as he discusses different trees, shrubs, vegetables, herbs, and flowers to incorporate into an edible landscape. Whether you have limited space and want to grow produce in your front yard, or you just want to spruce up an old vegetable garden, Joel will provide plenty of ideas to add color, shapes, texture, and of course, flavor to your garden. Joel Leak has been a Master Gardener since 2001 and has been gardening for over 50 years. He teaches Adult Education classes in vegetable gardening, fruit trees, culinary herbs, and growing berries. He lives in Falmouth where he maintains a large vegetable garden, berries bushes, fruit trees, and an incredible edible hedge.

Write On! A Creative Writing Smorgasbord

Whether you’re an English Lit dropout or a published author, this course is for you! We’ll share funny, five-minute writing prompts and personal memoir; we’ll try our hand at free style poetry and lively short stories; most of all we’ll give free rein to our inner muse and find new ways to express the old adage that “A writer writes, always.” Please bring something to write on and something to write with; handouts and related materials will be provided. Lynne Mentzer is an avid journal writer. She is certified to teach courses in Journal to Self and has led numerous writing and collage workshops. Lynne is an ordained United Methodist minister, recently retired after serving churches in Maine and New Hampshire for the past 20 years.

Do you use essential oils but want to know more about them? Or maybe you have no experience but are curious? In this one night workshop, we will discuss what essential oils are, how they are made and how they can be used to enhance your life. We will touch upon some of the more commonly used essential oils and will also cover safety precautions. You will learn about the different qualities of essential oils that are on the market and how to make an educated decision when faced with many different brand choices. Intentional Collage: Cut, Paste, and Write Your Way to Greater Self-Knowledge - Summer Collage (A Four Season Series)

Remember the fun you had making art in Kindergarten? Intentional Collage is a fun way to make “kindergarten art” as a way of deepening self-knowledge. The combination of meditation and music, images and words can reveal new insights into your current situation or new directions to explore. No artistic skill is needed; all materials are provided (including chocolate!).
